Yoga + Alcohol Reduction
From Our Founder,
Yoga postures, breathing techniques, mantras and emotion/thought management are excellent tools to aid you in drinking less alcohol. And, they are extremely useful at helping you identify what you are really thirsting for in life. During my personal search for support, I discovered there are very few groups designed to help you reduce drinking that aren't Alcoholics Anonymous, and quite frankly that's not a group many of us feel comfortable with or fits our needs. Having practiced yoga for 13 years and worked in the yoga industry for 11, I know many teachings of a yoga practice can assist your alcohol reduction efforts. For me, my yoga practice made it easier to transition to reduced drinking and get focused on the things I really wanted to be doing; growing a new business, swimming, hiking, birding and of course yoga! So, after 4 years developing this curriculum, I am sharing my yoga practice and holistic health knowledge with you to reduce or quit drinking alcohol so that we may all live happier and fuller lives, quenching our true thirst for life! Welcome to New Thirst, using holistic strategies to help you reduce your alcohol drinking. I'm so happy to have you join the community! Stacey Auch, Founder New Thirst & Yoga Conexion Bio |

Welcome to New Thirst.
Is alcohol no longer quenching your thirst for a happy life? A growing number of adults worldwide feel the same, and a new 'drink less' approach to living is gaining momentum. You don't have to do it alone! This movement is inspired by alcohol drinkers that do not define themselves as alcoholics. Collectively, we work in empowering ways to understand why we drink alcohol and then learn to take back control. Our strategies are based on using yoga and holistic health options to rethink our relationship with alcohol, identify old habits and create new stories that inspire us to live the life for which we truly thirst. Yoga beginners are welcome. |
Inspiration from Costa Rica
In 2009, I moved to Costa Rica. I had no plan, no contacts and no belongings. I simply listened to my inner voice that said "Change!"
Almost 12 years later I have run an established yoga studio and travel agency.
I have seen the magical, healing powers of the jungle. I've watched people arrive with raw, emotional wounds and use the tropics as a place to reconnect and rediscover their thirst for living a life aligned with their true desires.
It seems like a no-brainer to use Costa Rica as a inspiration for creating New Thirst. And, you'll be thirsting to visit (and have the money saved to do so!) after you finish your 30 Day No Alcohol Challenge.
I hope we can meet on one of our No-Drinking Costa Rica Retreats.
